Scholarships for Google Conferences

Eligibility

Applicants for a scholarship to go to a conference in another country must meet these rules:

You must be a full-time student enrolled at an African university in need of conference travel money.

Accept a paper at a prestigious computer science conference. We prefer to fund conferences in areas of study in which Google has a strong interest. A list of areas can be found at research.google.com.

Be the solo or joint first author of a paper that has been accepted.

Please fill out and send this this form by the deadline for the conference you plan to go to.

Due to the change to virtual mode for conferences, we are currently accepting applications to pay conference fees.

The procedure for filing a claim

We assess applications on a rolling basis throughout the year, so eligible applicants may expect a response within four weeks of submitting their application. A student who gets a grant for travel will get the money from their university. The student will be able to claim the money through normal university procedures.
